Personal Injury Insurance Policy

Accidents do happen, so we have arranged a personal injury insurance policy to cover any absence from work due to serious injury such as breaks.

How it Works

If an injury occurs as a direct result from competing in the tournament which causes an absence period from work, Pro-One will pay you a weekly sum up to your first three weeks absence. (This does not affect your normal sick pay or benefits paid from your employer or income support).

Payments will only be made upon confirmation from a Hospital or Doctor (in writing), giving details of the nature of the injury and also where, when and how the injury happened. The officiating referee will be asked to confirm an incident took place at the stated time and place of injury.

If qualified for cover, your monies will be paid to you weekly in arrears direct to your bank account. A maximum of three weeks payment on each claim can only be made. Once a claim has been made and payment made to you, the policy will automatically cancel and new cover must be obtained to gain further cover.

The Cost of Cover

Each policy costs £75 (seventy five pounds) per person and covers you for as long as you are in the tournament (a minimum of 11 games). If, after that period you are no longer in the tournament and you make no claim, a refund of £40 (forty pounds) will be made to you.

If you remain in the tournament after the first group stages, you will play a minimum of 2 further games before you can be knocked out, therefore you will be covered to the end of your involvement in the tournament. No refund can be made after that point if you do not qualify for the advanced stages of the tournament.

Payments

  • Pro-One injury insurance covers you for £90 (ninety pounds) per week for the first three weeks of absence (total £270 - two hundred and seventy pounds).
  • Payments are made directly into an active bank account only and no cash or advance payments can be made at any time.
  • Cover will not begin until full cost of the insurance is received.
  • The policy is purely optional and does not affect your Statutory Sick Pay.

The policy only covers fractures and breaks of bones and does not cover muscle pulls and sprains.
